Zipkin
Distributed tracing system to gather timing data
Zipkin is a distributed tracing system. It helps gather timing data needed to troubleshoot latency problems in service architectures. Features include both the collection and lookup of this data. If you have a trace ID in a log file, you can jump directly to it. Otherwise, you can query based on attributes such as service, operation name, tags and duration. Some interesting data will be summarized for you, such as the percentage of time spent in a service, and whether or not operations failed. The Zipkin UI also presents a Dependency diagram showing how many traced requests went through each application. This can be helpful for identifying aggregate behavior including error paths or calls to deprecated services. Applications need to be “instrumented” to report trace data to Zipkin. -

Hacker Scripts is a cheeky collection of small automation scripts and language ports collected under the tagline “Based on a true story.” The repository gathers playful utilities (originally shell and Ruby scripts) that automate short, real-world tasks — for example, sending a quick “late at work” text when SSH sessions are active, firing off an automated “I’m sick / working from home” email on certain mornings, or even talking to a networked coffee machine to start brewing at precisely the right moment. The README explains the origin story and highlights several canonical scripts and provides usage notes such as required environment variables and cron examples for scheduling. Contributors have provided implementations and ports in many languages and folders (shell, Ruby, Python, Node, Perl, PowerShell, Go, Java, etc.), and the project explicitly welcomes pull requests that add additional language implementations. -

This API is available to the community under the LGPL open source license. This update includes ed25519 support, support for the new OpenSSH private key file format and stronger key exchange algorithms. The project continues to host both the original API and legacy applications created around it, however, these are now considered deprecated and we do not recommend their use in anyway. -

keycloak-config-cli is a Keycloak utility to ensure the desired configuration state for a realm based on a JSON/YAML file. The format of the JSON/YAML file is based on the export realm format. Store and handle the configuration files inside git just like normal code. A Keycloak restart isn't required to apply the configuration. The config files are based on the keycloak export files. You can use them to re-import your settings. But keep your files as small as possible. Remove all UUIDs and all stuff that is default set by keycloak. -

TeXtidote
Spelling, grammar and style checking on LaTeX documents
If so, you probably know that the process is far from simple. Since LaTeX documents contain special commands and keywords (the so-called "markup") that are not part of the "real" text, you cannot run a grammar checker directly on these files: it cannot tell the difference between markup and text. The other option is to remove all this markup, leaving only the "clear" text; however, when a grammar tool points to a problem at a specific line in this clear text, it becomes hard to retrace that location in the original LaTeX file. TeXtidote solves this problem; it can read your original LaTeX file and perform various sanity checks on it: for example, making sure that every figure is referenced in the text, enforcing the correct capitalization of titles, etc. In addition, TeXtidote can remove markup from the file and send it to the Language Tool library, which performs verification of both spelling and grammar in a dozen languages. -

Use of the Pentaho checkstyle format (via mvn checkstyle:check and reviewing the report) and developing working Unit Tests helps to ensure that pull requests for bugs and improvements are processed quickly. In addition to the unit tests, there are integration tests that test cross-module operation.
