libjpeg-turbo is a JPEG image codec that uses SIMD instructions (MMX, SSE2, NEON, AltiVec) to accelerate baseline JPEG compression and decompression on x86, x86-64, ARM, and PowerPC systems. This is a student project designed to compete in the 2010 IEEE Computer Society Student Competition: http://www.computer.org/portal/web/competition/2010competition The Code Red architecture is designed for extremely lower power environments, like distributed sensor networks.
