An update on the how to tutorial? the one on the website is very old :(

Dangling pointers in sqlUser/sqlChannel upon db reconection

I've discovered a problem in CMaster that will result in a crash in gnuworld due to dangling pointers.

sqlUser and sqlChannel objects are created with a pointer to a dbHandle object.

However when mod.cservice gets disconnected from postgres it runs delete(SQLDb); meaning all cached sqlUser objects and sqlChannel objects now have a dangling pointer and next time the code attempts to use it gnuworld crashes with "pure virtual method called".

Regards,

mod.dronescan analysecommand

gnuworld cores when try to use analysecommand when typed a wrong channel name,

It seems that GNUWorld will crash if it receives the old syntax of the GL token. But, if I got it right (I may be wrong) the lifetime field is optional in the token, so GNUWorld should accept all syntaxes.

Token Example:
AB GL * +judge@ip 3524 1267503884 :Testing th GLine

GNUWorld crashes:
../libgnuworld/xparameters.h:108: char* gnuworld::xParameters::operator[](const size_t&) const: Assertion `validSubscript( pos )' failed.

I'm not sure, but it may be a bug, so I would thanks if you could take a look.

Get the latest version of gnuworld with cvs.
open mod.cservice.cc.
Find the registered channels event handler OnChannelEvent.
In the switch, find the link below:
theClient = static_cast< iClient* >( data1 ) ;
Right below it, add this one:
Notice(theClient, "Debbuging..");

Compile GNUWorld and link it to the network.
Rejoin some channel where X is in.

Do you see the notice TWICE?
[00:11:40] -X- Debbuging..
[00:11:40] -X- Debbuging..

If not, try registering a channel and setting it's autojoin to on. Restart GNUWorld..
And now, double notice?

Tested with u2.10.12.12 and GNUWorld 1.4.1.

Thank you.
