In this case a config entry exitWhenEmpty would be helpful. 'ACK Timeout' setting could not be tested because SocketReader always acknowledges the messages it receives via a socket connection. So I've modified its source code to add an option which allows to enable/disable acknowledgements. Please consider the possibility to include it into the next release.
