Am trying to creat a GUI for mpgtx.

Basically, I want to let the user pick snippets graphically
and then run them through mpgtx for editing. To show
the user what is going on, I want to be able show the
response from mpgtx in a text window in the application.

However for any of the conversion, the output cannot be
redirected to the program. [though mpgtx -i works fine]. I
guess it is because the application updates the percent
conversion.

Is there any way to trap the output stream somehow.

Install trouble with Mac OS X

I have been using mpgtx for several years and have
found it to be a wonderful tool. Recently, however,
whenever I try to either join or split an MPG I get the
following message:

env: /usr/local/bin/mpgjoin: No such file or directory

This happens with any MPGs I try to split or join.

I am using OS X version 10.3.8

split a video 50 mins each

I have a video 2hrs and 15 min long and i want to split
it to 50 min segments. I tryed the command mpgtx -s
video.mpg {50:00} -b cut_vid but it only split it to 2
parts. what is the correct command to do this.

I enter the command line

mpgtx -s test.mpg {200M}

to split an mpeg in two and all i get is

200M is not a valid mpeg file

Anyone know what it could be.

While extracting subsections of the movie, I almost
always get several of these errors:

mpgtx -j _dvcr001.mpg '[1:22:0-1:22:5]' -o
slices/sample-82.mpg
Now processing _dvcr001.mpg 1/1 ... PES01: TS
<0, corrected to 0, movie will have problems playing!

I'm basically extracting the first 5 seconds of each
minute of the video to make myself a table of contents
so I can locate the sections of the movie I want.

Is this a problem with the original file, or is it a
bug in mpgtx?

split mpeg problem

Hi,

I don´t know if this is a bug, but when split a mpg1
file (~300 mb, video an audio), later, I can´t display
de clip, but If I first demux the file, and split only
video part it works fine..

Hello,

You'va made a very usefull program. I use it for make samples of an mp3.
But I miss a parameter for disable te output tot the screen.
Because I use it from a cronjob, the root-user gets lots of emails....
Maybe you can look for this.
