it seems that currently, ViRC automatically raises its
window when it gets the focus. This should not be done,
though (or at least should be configurable), as it
interferes with the X11-style focus policy that can be
enabled in Windows with TweakUI.

With this focus policy, it is not necessary to click on
windows to give them focus; rather, the window in which
the mouse cursor currently resides automatically has
the focus. Combined with ViRC's behaviour, this means
that ViRC automatically raises its window when the
mouse cursor enters it, which typically is not what the
user wants; in particular, it's an annoying issue when
ViRC is being run maximized, as it is then not possible
to go back and forth between other windows above it
without raising ViRC and thus hiding all other windows.

impossible to do right click on users with \L char in nick

try to right click on a user with a \L in his nick...
able to set their user mode with /mode <nick> <flags>.
The /mode command should at least show an informative
message when used in this way, instead of being sent
straight through to the server and causing an
unexpected error message.

The user mode syntax that ViRC has used for 8 years is
/umode <flags>.

Channel menu items for op commands don't work for halfops

Half-opped users (+h) are able to perform certain op
the op magic should work for both ops and halfops, or
there should be a separate magic for halfops.

WORKAROUND: The halfop commands can still be used by
entering them (/mode, /kick, etc.) or by right-clicking
an Active Nick and using that popup (which has no magic).

Assigning to global arrays is slow

Assigning to an array with @ or @s is inefficient,
