Open Source Python Icon Sets

Generate pixel-perfect macOS folder icons in the native style. Works for OS X 10.5 (Leopard) through macOS 13 (Ventura). Automatically includes all icon sizes from 16x16 through 512x512@2x. Light or dark mode (automatically selected by default). There is currently no simple way to set an icon that will automatically switch between light and dark when you switch the entire OS. You can only assign one version of an icon to a folder. Dark color scheme is only supported for macOS 11.0 (and later) right now. Make sure the corner pixels of the mask image are transparent. They are used for empty margins.

Python script (and library) for easy and simple export of icons from web icon fonts (e.g. Font Awesome, Octicons) as PNG images. The best part is the provided shell script, but you can also use it’s functionality directly in your (probably awesome) Python project. There’s also font-awesome-to-png script for backward compatibility with the first iteration of the concept. You can use IconFont (and IconFontDownloader for that matter) directly inside your Python project. There's no proper documentation as of now, but the code is commented and should be pretty straightforward to use.

Paper is a modern freedesktop icon theme whose design is based around the use of bold colours and simple geometric shapes to compose icons. Each icon has been meticulously designed for pixel-perfect viewing. While it does take some inspiration from the icons in Google's Material Design, some aspects have been adjusted to better suit a desktop environment. This project has mixed licencing. You are free to copy, redistribute and/or modify aspects of this work under the terms of each licence accordingly (unless otherwise specified). You can build and install Paper from source using Meson.

The Lila theme is a community project to provide an icon set and other lila-style resources for your desktop. The theme to based around SVG graphics - which means they can be scaled to any size without loss of quality.

PastebinGTK is a Linux desktop client for the pastebin.com text sharing service (http://pastebin.com/). It is written in Python and uses GTK+ 3 for the GUI. ---- PastebinGTK requires the Python interpreter to run. Development is done using 2.7.x, but it should work with 3.x as well. GTK+ 3 is also required. QtAwesome enables iconic fonts such as Font Awesome and Elusive Icons in PyQt and PySide applications. It started as a Python port of the QtAwesome C++ library by Rick Blommers. QtAwesome identifies icons by their prefix and their icon name, separated by a period (.) character. Use Font Awesome, Elusive Icons, Material Design Icons, Phosphor, Remix Icon or Microsoft's Codicons. QtAwesome comes bundled with Font Awesome, Elusive Icons, Material Design Icons, Phosphor, Remix Icon and Microsoft's Codicons but it can also be used with other iconic fonts. The load_font function allows loading other fonts dynamically. QtAwesome ships with a browser that displays all the available icons. You can use this to search for an icon that suits your requirements and then copy the name that should be used to create that icon.
