Surya is an open‑source, AI‑based foundation model for heliophysics developed collaboratively by NASA (via the IMPACT AI team) and IBM. Named after the Sanskrit word for “sun,” Surya is trained on nine years of high‑resolution solar imagery from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). It is designed to forecast solar phenomena—such as flares, solar wind, irradiance, and active region behavior—by predicting future solar images with a sophisticated long–short vision transformer architecture, thereby enabling improved space weather forecasting. Foresees solar flares, wind, EUV spectra, and active region formation in advance. Achieves approximately 16% improvement in forecasting accuracy over traditional methods. 366-million‑parameter foundation model capturing general-purpose solar representations. -

We are proud to introduce version 5 of CAMPARI. We have added a number of new features, most notably a Python interface for interpreting user-supplied code (with the help of ForPy), a novel trajectory storage standard (with the help of libpqxx/PostgreSQL), and a module for performing transition path theory. Naturally, CAMPARI continues to provide the reference implementation of the ABSINTH force field paradigm and implicit solvation model. CAMPARI is a joint package for performing and analyzing molecular simulations, in particular of systems of biological relevance. It focuses on a wide availability of algorithms for (advanced) sampling and is capable of combining Monte Carlo and molecular dynamics in seamless fashion. xrayutilities is a python package used to analyze x-ray diffraction data. It can support with performing diffraction experiments and used for common steps in the data analysis. It can read experimental data from several data formats (spec, edf, xrdml, ...); convert them to reciprocal space for arbitrary goniometer geometries and different detector systems (point, linear as well as area detectors); for further processing the data can be gridded (transformed to a regular grid). COmputational fluid dyNamics STRUctured grid CreaTor for 2D airfoils
Construct2D is a grid generator designed to create 2D grids for CFD computations on airfoils. The grids are generated in Plot3D format. The only required input file is the set of coordinates defining the airfoil geometry, using the same format as XFoil, the popular vortex-panel code for airfoil analysis. Construct2D can create grids with O topology (recommended for airfoils with a blunt trailing edge) or C topology (recommended for airfoils with a sharp trailing edge). Now available in version 2.0: hyperbolic grid generation to create higher quality grids in a fraction of the time compared to elliptic grid generation. Elliptic grid generation is still available also. Smooth airfoil surface spacing is handled automatically with user-controlled clustering parameters. Also included is a visualizer written in Python with matplotlib. -

PROPER Optical Propagation Library
Routines for wavefront propagation in IDL, Matlab, and Python
PROPER is a library of routines for the propagation of wavefronts through an optical system using Fourier-based methods. It was developed at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory for modeling stellar coronagraphs, but it can be applied to other optical systems were diffraction propagation is of concern. It is currently available for IDL (Interactive Data Language), Matlab and Python (3.x). It includes routines for generating complex apertures and obscurations and aberrations (Zernike & PSD-defined). It includes a model of a deformable mirror for wavefront control. The routines perform near and far field propagation with automatic selection of propagators.
